June 21st 5-6:30 PM |  AcroYoga in the Park

Wheeler Park — Downtown Flagstaff

It’s the International Day of Yoga!

Yep, it’s an official holiday.

Come celebrate with connection, movement, laughter, and of course… yoga!

Whether you’ve never tried AcroYoga before or you’ve flown through a few poses before, come connect, move, and play with us in the grass under the trees at Wheeler Park.

No Experience Needed

This all-levels class will focus on the foundational poses of AcroYoga
(mostly from L-basing), along with some partner stretching and group postures. Beginners will feel right at home, and those with more experience can explore intermediate options if desired.

There will be a bit of Flying Thai Yoga toward the end — a gentle, grounding way to wind things down and take turns being upside down.

If any of this sounds unfamiliar, don’t worry. There’ll be plenty of others trying it for the first time too.

What to Bring:

  • A yoga mat if you have one

  • Yourself, a friend, or loved one

  • A playful, open spirit!

Come solo or with a friend — either way, it’s a great chance to move, connect, and enjoy the beauty of community outdoors. See you in the park!

Common Questions

Do we need yoga experience to participate?

Not at all. This session is for everyone — whether it’s your first time on the mat or you’re a seasoned yogi. The practice is tailored to your group’s comfort level and preferences

What should we wear or bring?

Wear something comfy that you can move in. Bring a yoga mat if you have one, and a blanket or towel

Will this be held outdoors?

Yep! Unless there’s a chance of rain, then we’ll move it inside and let you know of the location in advance.

Do I need to be fit or flexible to participate

It’s helpful to be able to sit with your legs outstretched and body sitting upright comfortably to base and to fly, having some core muscles and body awareness helps!

Do I need to bring a partner?

Nope! You’re welcome to come solo — in fact, many people do. There will be partner switching throughout the class, so everyone will have a chance to work and play with different people.

I’ve never even done yoga before — is that okay?

Absolutely! This class is beginner-friendly and designed to be welcoming for all experience levels. Everything will be broken down step-by-step, with lots of support and options for where you’re at.

What should I bring?

A yoga mat (if you have one), a blanket or a towel, & a water bottle.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you can move in are a plus — think yoga or workout wear.

Do I need to be flexible or strong to do this?

Not at all. AcroYoga is more about communication, connection, and trying things together. You don’t need to be super bendy or strong — just open to giving it a try.

What if it rains?

In case of rain or weather issues, updates will be shared on the event page with 3 days notice.

Is the event really free!?

Yep! This event is all about community and just having a good time. If you fancy, you can donate to our scholarship fund for yoga retreat students in need.
