What to Wear
Tennis shoes are great. Don’t wear any new hiking shoes or boots that haven’t been broken in.
Hiking sandals with straps and sturdy traction are fine if the temperatures permit.
Don’t wear anything you don’t want colored with red dirt afterwards!
Wear comfortable clothing you can easily move and sit in. Avoid belts and restrictive items like jeans.
A hat and lightweight long sleeves or pants are great for sun protection.
The temperature can change quickly in Sedona, so bring layers you can add or remove as needed. Check the forecast and consider a jacket or sweater. For sunrise, sunset, or winter tours, pack extra layers like a beanie and gloves. In warmer months, a lightweight sarong can be nice to provide sun protection.
What to Bring
Bring at least one water bottle per person, with a minimum of 32 ounces in warmer weather.
Bring a bag or backpack to carry your personal items.
SPF 30 or higher is ideal even
Optional Items
If using your phone for photos, it’s ideal to have it on aeroplane mode.
Bring anything you’d like to charge on the vortex.
If you’d like to tip your guide for a for an exceptional experience.
Mosquitos aren’t usually a concern, but they may appear during
warmer months. A natural, DEET-free repellent works well for most.
Salty, protein-rich foods high in electrolytes are ideal.
Consider salted nuts, energy bars, or coconut and banana chips.
