What to Wear:

Shoes:

Tennis shoes are great. Don’t wear any new hiking shoes or boots that haven’t been broken in. Don’t bring anything you don’t want colored with red dirt afterwards!

Hiking sandals with straps and a good grip are fine if the temperatures permit.

*If there has been recent rain or snow consider bringing an extra pair of shoes to change in to afterwards.

Clothing:

Wear something you would feel comfortable moving in and sitting down in. Avoid belts and restrictive clothing like jeans. Consider lightweight long sleeves & bottoms to keep the sun off.

*Try to avoid light colored bottoms as they may attract the red dirt!. (Most tech gear khakis are fine.)

Layers:

The temperature can change quickly in Sedona. It’s nice to have layers to shed & put on. Dress accordingly & check the weather to consider adding a rain jacket & or sweater/fleece. Bring extra layers such as a beanie & gloves for sunset, sunrise, & winter tours. In the warmer months, a lightweight sarong can be a nice addition for comfort and sun protection while lying down.
